Good People
October 6th, 2008 · No Comments
We like the folks over at ECOS. They do good things for the earth and for Sacramento.
So when they have a party we get excited and want to help out. This year they are having their fall festival over in our part of town. I am going to post more later about the event and [...]

Bike Corrals
September 28th, 2008 · No Comments
Cool approach to providing more room on sidewalks and less on roads. I really think Sacramento could install a couple of these in key locations and probably really enhance the foot traffic in front of some retail. In fact our parking day location on 20th and J was a perfect spot for one of these.

Its Park(ing) Day!
September 19th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Park(ing) Day
September 18th, 2008 · 2 Comments
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is Park(ing) day. The whole thing makes me miss Jason a lot, he did an incredible job last year putting it together and making sure it was an authentic gesture towards a better world and not just another gimmicky sales pitch. I hope we are able to do it [...]

I Am Not Sure This Makes Me Comfortable

I am a little confused, isn’t the goal to keep private businesses private? And keep government out of private enterprise? I am not entirely sure that the move today by the Fed to “purchase” 80% of AIG insurance is all that well thought out. I mean I know that we are having some issues and [...]

The More The Better…Bikes That Is.
September 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Thanks Dustin for sending this great article about the safety in numbers for bicyclists.
Also… that reminds me. Every year West Sacramento does this really neat event on the waterfront called the Neighbors fair. It starts with a good old hometown parade and then moves over to the Riverwalk park across from old Sac and there [...]

Movie Night
September 10th, 2008 · 3 Comments
I keep thinking…what good is all this talk about community without a good movie night now and again?!? So we are getting together with the good folks over at USGBC and hosting a movie night here are the Green Living Center (20th and H in Midtown Sacramento).
After the film, the film’s producer, Maria Terezinha Vaz [...]

There Is Going To Be A Book (but Not Without You…)
September 8th, 2008 · 15 Comments
I was not sure if I wanted to get on the blog here and start talking about this project until I was further along but I am beginning to think that the benefits of including everyone in the process outweigh the risk of humiliation if this thing were never to get published.
Its a tough thing [...]

Not that we have an award for something like this but this one from a few days ago would win it for sure.
