I just read that the olympics opening ceremony was viewed by 4 billion people. Could that be true? Aren’t there only 6 billion in the whole world? 2 out of 3 in the entire world? Wow.

I must admit that the massive display of power made me a bit intimidated by China. Makes the whole urbanization of America thing seem insignificant compared to the scale of issues that China deals with.

Everyone I’ve talked to so far watched them…

The “whole urbanization of America thing” is still significant, because it directly affects the quality of life in our country. Of course there’s that whole thing about us using way more than “our share” of the earth’s resources, and how most of the world still looks to us as an example of how to live…

What I found so incredible about the opening ceremony was that although there were many examples of new technologies used (such as the 500′ long LED screen) they relied heavily on human beings. So many incredible images using humans and simple props like lighted suits, large scale fans and undulating boxes.

It just goes to show that people, when working together for a common cause, can produce seemingly impossible results.

Let’s keep that in mind as we move forward, together.

I know its almost as if they were trying to send a message that there were so many people in their country that they could afford to put people everywhere. The crazy thing is the announcer said that the same person never was on the floor twice.

Problems sometimes develop when people consider a resource to be inexhaustable. Especially when people are the resource.
