Many of you know that Jessie and I adopted our little baby girl Ruth last year. She is a wonderful little joy in our lives and we are big fans of adoption.

Its heart wrenching to hear the statistics of how many adoptable children there are in the system. And the sad truth is that there are simply not enough parents willing to step up and open their homes. I am not trying to say that we are special or anything, Ruth is an amazing gift to us and we are the ones who are lucky to have her, it just makes me sad that there are so many kids without families to take them in.

Tomorrow there is going to be a really cool event in town that helps bring up the topic and shows us just a few of the children who are waiting for a home.

WHERE: 20th Street Art Gallery, 911 20th St. in Sacramento
BACKGROUND: The Heart Gallery of Sacramento is a traveling exhibit of professional-
quality photographs of children who need adoptive parents. It is
collaboration between volunteers from California State University-
Sacramento, Sierra Adoption Services, Sacramento County Child
Protective Services, Lilliput Children’s Services, and Court Appointed
Special Advocates of Sacramento organizes. Historically, about 400
children are adopted each year in Sacramento County, but many more
need adoptive homes. With your help, we can accomplish so much
more.
