Today we passed a milestone. We trained our first mason! For every 10,000 visitors to DoSomeGoodNow LJ Urban is going to pay for the complete training of a mason in Burkina Faso and we just hit our first one today. That means we are going to be wiring money to AVN our partner and they are going to choose a local farmer and teach how him or her to build homes for a village. I don’t know about you but that makes me want to get up and dance. I know one mason is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things but its a start and one that I am very proud of. We have all worked hard at making this happen and I know the folks over at AVN have to. It has been literally months and months of negotiations, planning and re-planning, design and then more design. I think we must have made 10 different versions of the DoSomeGoodNow site and as if that was not enough we are working on another version right now.

Thanks to everyone who visited the site and did their part in training a mason. Now lets get the next 19 trained!
