Previously, we introduced one of our newest projects: Family Style. This project tackles something near and dear to our hearts - Families.
Having more than a couple kids in our West Sac projects so far would be a bit awkward. So we wanted to build one that has a bit larger unit sizes that can fit 3 bedrooms and give the kids a place to play.
The unit sizes we are looking for range from 1400-1700 square feet and 2-3 stories. We bought about 3/4 of an acre at 4th and E St in the Washington neighborhood - close to the shadow of the new CalSTRS building and in the heart of the historic district.
To keep with the historic look of the neighborhood we are looking to the Craftsman style reminiscent of Greene and Greene (the Sacramento example is at 3200 H St) with lots of windows, low pitched roofs, and highlighting natural materials such as wood and stone. Trying to minimize the effects of the car we will minimize the number of driveways and save the on street parking for guests.
One of our ideas to give more private open space is to construct green patios at the 2nd floor level over the drive aisle that will connect directly to the living space and be a wonderful spot for toddler and younger children to create their own realm. There are a couple huge oaks on site that we will endeavor to save depending on their structural condition. The one in the back creates a great ambiance for the community space where the kids can run around.
