Yummy Slices

I know, I know… you have had enough pizza recommendations after both Sactown and Sacramento magazine ran stories about the best pizza in town this month, but I can’t help myself.

I heard that Old Soul was going to offer pizza and finally got a slice today - and I was impressed.

I got the vegetarian and it had tomatoes, eggplant, and lots of other good stuff I can’t seem to remember, but it all went together very well. I always like a good pizza, especially if it’s by the slice.

I also noticed that Pete’s is opening a new store at 20th and J Streets. Only 3 blocks from our office. Hooray for midtown!

Old Soul just has to be the best at everything… I’ll definitely need to check out their pizza.

20th and J is the current location of Original Pete’s. Is there a new store somewhere?

    Levi,
Steve and I went to Luigi’s Slice for their second day open today. We ran into a bunch of people from our professional circle. Anyway that pizza rocks and Luigi’s is definitely a Sactown favorite. Their original location is on 14th and Stockton and still remains. Good stuff. It just feels edgy and urban to me to find pizza by the slice around town.

    Dan,

The new Pete’s is actually in the Marrs building across from Original Pete’s pizza. (just realized how ironic that is)

And Luigi’s is open!?! So cool I had no idea. Im heading over there as soon as I can!

It’s Peets Coffee which is opening in MARRS.

    Ouch,

Peet’s not Pete’s. I never noticed the spelling until you pointed that out.

Micah, it feels even more edgy and urban when scoring a slice of someone else’s plate when they’re not looking. :-)

Ah, yes. Peet’s. I’m glad they’re not moving Petes. I like there current setup.

    So pizza-by-the-slice roundup:
    - Pieces
    - Vitto’s
    - Luigi’s
    - Old Soul
    - another new one is supposed to open at 16th and Q sometime soon.

The cookies they sell on the counter at Luigi’s rock, too.

Luigi’s is the bomb. Although I need to have one or two beers in me to fully appreciate their homemade sausage.
