Newton Booth went before the Planning Commission last Thursday and was given unanimous approval.
Our Favorite Moment…
Hands down, the best moment was when Commission Boyd took the mike and said (paraphrase), “I just wanted to say that this is an exceptional project and we look forward to you bringing more projects back to us.” He then went on and said, “we want to see this format as an example of other projects that come before us and we want to see this specific developer come back to us. I think the planning commission should support any effort this developer is doing.”
That was pretty encouraging… especially after the efforts we’ve taken to really try and get this project right.
Next Steps
We’ll be going before City Council next week but do not anticipate any concerns. After that, we’ll start working on construction drawings and interiors. At present, we’re still working out the contract with the General Contractor.
Our best estimates at this point project a ground-breaking in Sept/Oct. of this year.

I learned today we are still waiting on a date for the City Council Hearing, but it should be sometime in the next few weeks.
