Design Review Hearing Coming Soon
Our Newton Booth project at 27th and V Streets is progressing through the entitlement process in the months of April and May, with a big Design Review Hearing being the next big landmark.

Learning as We Go
On so many levels, this has been a case study for eco-urban development. This has been a tough project (as we knew it would be when we took it on) but very rewarding—we’ve been able to learn a lot that we’re already applying to other projects.

Mogavero!
We’ve been really impressed with the creativity in design, efficiency and green-building strategy that David Mogavero has infused into this project. We anticipate that the finished project will be an asset not only to the neighborhood but also, due to its proximity at the intersection of two freeways, to the entire urban-core of Sacramento.

We’ve got more images of the project, including floorplans, as it is currently conceived in our gallery.

Calling Fellow Eco-Urbanists!
All Design Review Hearings are open to the public. As this is our first eco-urban project in Midtown, we’d love to have some support from fellow eco-urbanists.

Date/Time: May 16th, 3:30pm
Location: 3rd floor of the new Sacramento City Hall building on I Street.

If you have questions about the project, feel free to email Vanessa at LJUrban dot com.

Gathering Feedback
Lately, as we get closer and closer to our Tentative Map Hearing with City Council, we’ve been doing more and more presentations. In less than one week, we presented at a Planning Commission Review & Comment Workshop, at the NAG meeting, and at the Newton Booth Neighborhood Association general meeting.

As Vanessa has articulated before, workshops and presentations are exciting but also nerve-wracking. Its hard being in the position of really caring and not knowing if this is seen, understood or even valued. But, regardless, we’re committed to caring.

Happily, the feedback overall has been very positive about the design and exteriors of the project. The Commissioners felt that this is the type of project they would like to see more of in Sacramento, and project neighbors spoke about how this development will promote vibrancy and revitalization in this corner of town. The concerns that were expressed regarding the scale relative to the 1-story house next door, setbacks and parking are details that we continue to try to find the best solutions for.
